The Urla Wine Route is one of the easiest places near İzmir to spend a day among vineyards, but it is not one single attraction and there is no honest way to call one winery “the best” for everyone. Some estates focus on structured tastings, some combine wine with a full restaurant, some feel more like family-run tasting rooms, and others operate as polished destination venues.
This guide compares the 10 current members of the official Urla Wine Route — Urla Winery, USCA, Urlice, Mozaik, MMG, Perdix, Çakır, HUS, İkidenizarası and Statera — plus D-VIN Urla, a newer notable winery with a strong public review footprint that is not currently shown on the association’s official member list. Information was checked on 30 September 2026.

*Ratings and review counts are snapshots checked on 30 September 2026. They can change and should be read together with review volume and recent written feedback.
1. Urla Winery — the most established first-stop option
Address: Kuşçular, 8028 Sk. No:12, 35437 Urla · Phone: +90 232 759 01 11.
The official site currently lists seasonal hours: 1 June–30 September, Mon–Sat 10:00–20:00 and Sun 11:00–19:00; 1 October–30 May, Mon–Sat 10:00–18:00 and Sun 11:00–19:00. Paid tastings and free production tours are offered every 30 minutes during opening hours. Groups of eight or more must reserve. The tasting room is 18+, and there is no restaurant or café.
Price: the winery does not publish the current tasting fee on its own site. A detailed Tripadvisor review from April 2026 reports ₺400, while earlier reviews show lower figures; treat ₺400 only as a recent reference and confirm before arrival.
What the reviews suggest: this is one of the strongest choices for a first visit if you want a clear explanation of wine and production rather than a long lunch. Recent visitors repeatedly praise the architecture, landscaping, cleanliness and informative tasting. The very large review base makes the 4.5 Google score more informative than a perfect score built from a few dozen reviews.
Editorial read: a safe shortlist for first-timers, but not the right place if your priority is a vineyard restaurant.
2. USCA — the most transparent tasting programme
Address: Kuşçular, 8033 Sk. No:1 · Reservation: +90 536 683 78 81.
USCA publishes the clearest tasting structure we found. Tastings run by reservation every day: Classical and Premium sessions are currently listed at 13:00 and 15:00; the Cellar tasting is at 14:00. The tasting room is 18+.
Current official prices: Classical tasting ₺825 for four 5 cl pours; Premium ₺1,050 for six; Cellar ₺1,800 for a six-wine cellar experience. USCA also publishes its wine-by-glass, bottle and food prices online, which makes budgeting unusually easy.
What the reviews suggest: Tripadvisor is strong at 4.5/5 from 86 reviews, with recent visitors praising guided explanations, the building and the consistency of the tasting format. The experience is more structured than spontaneous.
Editorial read: probably the easiest option for a foreign visitor who wants to know exactly what will happen and roughly what it will cost before leaving İzmir.
3. Urlice — beautiful setting, but the review picture is mixed
Address: İçmeler, 1168 Sokak No:7 · Phone: +90 533 161 7469.
Urlice states that wine tastings are by prior reservation only. Its current winery page lists summer hours of 13:00–22:00 and says it is closed on Mondays. The tasting area is 18+; the restaurant accepts guests aged 12+. The separate Vineyard Cafe publishes a full food menu.
Price: we did not find a current 2026 tasting price on the official site, so any older figure online should be treated as obsolete.
What the reviews suggest: this is a useful case where the numbers prevent over-selling. Google has a very large review volume at around 4.0/5, while Tripadvisor is lower at 3.4/5 from 145 reviews. Positive reviews tend to praise the vineyard setting, old building, reserve wines and the combination with restaurant dining. Critical reviews more often mention service attitude or inconsistency.
Editorial read: worth considering for the setting and established identity, but the mixed service feedback is exactly why we would not call it “the best” without personal verification.
4. Mozaik Winery — boutique scale and unusual grapes
Address: Kuşçular, 8015/2 Sokak No:6 · Route contact: +90 232 759 05 09 · Winery office: +90 232 465 03 21.
The official Urla Wine Route page lists 12:00–18:00 in both summer and winter. Mozaik is a family project known for an unusually broad red-grape mix including varieties such as Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Tannat, Petit Verdot and others.
Price: no current 2026 official tasting price was published when checked. Older guides quote much lower historical prices and should not be used for budgeting.
What the reviews suggest: the Google score is solid at about 4.3/5 but based on fewer than 100 reviews, so the evidence is thinner than for Urla Winery, Urlice or Perdix. Visitor descriptions usually frame it as a smaller, more intimate tasting stop rather than a major destination complex.
Editorial read: interesting if you care about grape varieties and boutique scale; call ahead because the public information footprint is thinner.
5. MMG — traditional production and a less polished, more family-oriented feel
Address: Bademler, Gödence Yolu Cd. No:40 · Phone: +90 232 776 63 66.
MMG’s official site describes a roughly 20,000-bottle annual production, night harvesting, manual pressing and a bistro-style restaurant. It also states that pets are not accepted, visitors under 18 are not accepted, reservations are mandatory for groups over 10, and service closes at 17:00. Current public business listings show roughly 12:00–17:00 on most days, with Sunday extending later; confirm before driving there.
Price: no current official tasting fee was found.
What the reviews suggest: Google is around 4.6/5 from 250 reviews and Tripadvisor 4.4/5 from 32. Positive feedback often describes the location, views and family atmosphere rather than a highly formal tasting ritual.
Editorial read: a good contrast to the more polished destination estates if you prefer a smaller producer story and a less corporate feel.
6. Perdix — attractive venue, but service feedback is polarised
Address: Zeytinler, İzmir–Çeşme Yolu No:14 · Reservation: +90 533 556 72 43 · Business: +90 506 099 14 33.
Perdix is more than a tasting room: visitors use it as a wine, food and social venue. Its official Turkish contact page currently says 14:00–00:00 and closed Tuesdays, while the English page shows a different split schedule. Because the official language versions conflict, call before going rather than relying on either page.
Price: no current tasting price is publicly listed.
What the reviews suggest: the large Google footprint is around 4.0/5 from more than 1,100 reviews; Tripadvisor is 3.6/5 from 50. Recent positive reviews praise the design, grounds, wine and attentive staff. Negative reviews repeatedly focus on host/reception behaviour, reservation handling and value. That pattern matters more than a single enthusiastic review.
Editorial read: potentially enjoyable as an evening venue, but public feedback is too mixed for us to recommend it unconditionally.
7. Çakır Winery — polished estate with strong tasting comments and weaker value scores
Address: Kuşçular Mah., 8036 Sokak No:54 · Phone: +90 533 415 35 48 / +90 232 759 06 29.
The official site lists 13:00–23:00, closed Mondays. Çakır combines winery, vineyards and kitchen, so it functions as a longer destination stop rather than only a tasting counter.
Price: no current official tasting fee was found.
What the reviews suggest: Google is around 4.0/5 from more than 600 reviews, while Tripadvisor is lower at 3.0/5 from 22. Detailed wine-focused reviews can be very positive about cellar tastings, knowledgeable explanations and the estate itself. More critical recent feedback focuses on restaurant pricing and food value.
Editorial read: separate the wine-tasting reputation from the restaurant-value debate. It may suit visitors who want a polished estate and detailed wine explanation, but budget-conscious diners should check the menu first.
8. HUS — wine tourism combined with a serious restaurant
Address: Kuşçular Mah., 8018/1 Sk. No:39 · Phone: +90 545 571 90 42 · Email: rezervasyon@huswines.com.
HUS asks visitors to reserve before arrival and combines a tasting room, winery, terrace and restaurant. Its kitchen has been listed by the Michelin Guide and other gastronomy guides. The official tasting menu currently offers five wines for ₺800, with guided tastings at the beginning of each hour between 13:00 and 18:00. Public business listings show evening operation on its open days, but the exact weekly schedule should be confirmed with the venue.
What the reviews suggest: Google is around 4.4/5 from 469 reviews. The strongest reason to choose HUS is not a claim that its wine is objectively better; it is the integrated experience of wine, food, views and sunset.
Editorial read: one of the most relevant options for a couple or group wanting a complete afternoon/evening rather than a quick tasting.
9. İkidenizarası — a quieter rural stop with food pairings
Address: Yağcılar Mah., 9029 Sokak No:8/8A · Phone: +90 501 352 15 00.
The winery’s own site asks visitors to reserve tasting events in advance and says tastings are served with meat and cheese accompaniments. Current public listings show roughly 13:00–21:30 on open days; Tuesday appears to be the usual closed day, but confirm directly.
Price: no current public tasting price was found.
What the reviews suggest: Google is around 4.6/5 from 150 reviews. Independent wine-travel writing frequently highlights the more remote Yağcılar setting, sunset views and a quieter atmosphere than the busiest Kuşçular estates.
Editorial read: a good option if you deliberately want to leave the densest part of the route and make the winery itself the destination.
10. Statera — newer, modern and exceptionally strong current review signal
Address: Özbek, 6115 Sk. No:10/1 · Phone: +90 531 507 82 24 · Email: info@staterasarapcilik.com.
Statera opened its tasting room in 2024. Its official site lists 11:00–19:00 on weekdays and 11:00–20:00 on weekends, closed Tuesdays. Walk-ins are accepted for up to three people; groups of four or more should reserve.
Price: we found a 2025 tasting price on an independent guide, but no current 2026 official price, so we do not reproduce the old figure as if it were current.
What the reviews suggest: Google is around 4.9/5 from more than 330 reviews, an unusually strong combination of score and volume for a newer winery. Recent detailed reviews often praise knowledgeable hosting, variety across white/rosé/red wines and the modern tasting environment.
Editorial read: one of the most interesting newer stops on the route based on current public evidence, but we still treat the rating as a reputation signal rather than a quality certification.
11. D-VIN Urla — not on the current official route list, but difficult to ignore
Address: Camiatik Mah., Yabangülü Sokak No:8 · Phone: +90 505 643 62 70 · Email: info@dvinsarapcilik.com.
D-VIN is a newer boutique winery whose official site lists visiting hours of 11:00–19:00 and offers several tasting styles, including fuller tastings, vineyard tastings and personalised experiences. The winery says holiday periods require reservations.
Price: current tasting prices are not published on the official site.
What the reviews suggest: its Google score was 5.0/5 from 273 reviews at our check. Recent detailed reviews repeatedly mention personal hosting, explanations about production and a warm family-run atmosphere. Because this is newer and not currently shown among the association’s official route members, we list it separately rather than presenting it as an official member.
Editorial read: strong public evidence for visitors who value personal hosting, but its perfect score should still be interpreted with normal caution.
Which winery should you choose?
Instead of a fake “best winery” ranking, choose by the experience you actually want:
- First winery visit / educational tasting: Urla Winery or USCA.
- Most transparent current pricing: USCA; HUS also publishes its tasting price.
- Wine + serious meal: HUS, Urlice, Çakır or Perdix, depending on style and budget.
- Small-scale / producer-focused feel: Mozaik, MMG, Statera or D-VIN.
- Quieter rural destination: İkidenizarası.
- Strongest current review score with meaningful volume: Statera and D-VIN — but neither score should be mistaken for an independent audit.
How many wineries can you realistically visit in one day?
The route is spread across Kuşçular, İçmeler, Bademler, Özbek, Yağcılar and Zeytinler. Trying to “collect” eight or ten wineries in one day produces more driving than tasting. For most visitors, two substantial winery visits plus lunch is ideal; three is possible if the appointments are close geographically and at least one stop is short.
A practical way to plan is by clusters. Kuşçular has Urla Winery, USCA, Mozaik, Çakır and HUS relatively close to one another. Statera sits toward Özbek; Urlice is in İçmeler; MMG is toward Bademler; İkidenizarası is in Yağcılar; Perdix is on the Zeytinler/Çeşme-road side.
Transport: do not build a tasting day around driving yourself
Public transport can get you to Urla town, but it does not turn the vineyard route into a simple hop-on/hop-off corridor. The estates are dispersed along rural roads. If several people will taste, arrange a sober driver, taxi plan or private transfer before leaving İzmir. If you want a genuinely car-free Urla day, use our Urla without a car guide and focus on the town, İskele and Karantina instead.
What foreign visitors should ask before booking
- Is a reservation required for the tasting, the restaurant, or both?
- What is the current 2026 tasting price and how many pours are included?
- Are prices inclusive of VAT (KDV)?
- Is the tasting conducted in English if requested?
- Are children allowed in the restaurant or winery grounds? Age policies differ significantly.
- Are pets allowed? Several estates have explicit restrictions.
- Does the tasting include a cellar or production tour?
- How long should you allow before booking the next winery?
- Is food available that day, and is the kitchen schedule the same as the winery schedule?
Our review methodology
We use three levels of evidence. First: official winery and Urla Wine Route information for addresses, visitor rules, reservations and published prices. Second: current Google Business ratings and review volume as a broad reputation signal. Third: recent detailed Tripadvisor and other independent reviews to identify recurring themes such as knowledgeable hosting, service inconsistency, restaurant value or reservation problems.
We deliberately do not convert this into a numerical OnlineIzmir score. We have not independently blind-tasted every wine, audited service standards or inspected every kitchen. The most useful conclusion for a visitor is not “which winery wins?” but which experience matches your priorities, budget and route.
