OnlineIzmir’s publishing approach is built on accuracy, clarity, usefulness, independence and a people-first perspective.
Accuracy and sourcing
Information that can change—such as dates, fees, application requirements, transport times, event programmes and regulations—is checked against official or primary sources whenever possible before publication. When information is uncertain, we say so clearly.
Press releases and institutional statements may be a starting point for reporting, but they are not reproduced verbatim. We explain what they mean for readers, their limits and their practical consequences.
Use of artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence may assist with topic discovery, source classification, summarisation, language editing and drafting. AI is not used to invent quotations, data, events, institutional statements or sources.
AI-generated images representing real events are not used in a way that could make readers mistake them for documentary or news photography.
Advertising and editorial independence
Sponsored content is clearly labelled. A commercial partnership cannot buy the outcome of a news story or critical assessment. Unverifiable claims relating to health, investment or legal matters are not accepted.
